The 2020 SRW Conference has been canceled! Sorry!
Pricing for the 2021 Conference will be determined at a later date.
The package includes all of the classes. It doesn’t include meals, room or board, travel expenses, consults with visiting agents/editors, or additional workshops or contests.
Registrants for the SRW conference must be 14 years of age in order to participate. We encourage young writers to consider the following conferences: Teen Author Boot Camp, Tween Author Boot Camp, and The Teen Writer’s Conference, held annually in Utah. Please reach out to us if we can help you find the right conference for your young writer. Writers under the age of 18 who sign up for a consult with visiting agents/editors must have a parent present during their consult.
Babies that can be cared for quietly and without disruption to other attendees may attend with a parent. Other children are not welcome. We hope you understand. We love kids. We are parents ourselves, however preserving the learning environment comes first for our paying attendees. We appreciate your willingness to respect the experience of others by leaving your children at home.
Sometimes plans change. And that really stinks. If you register for the conference but are unable to attend, you may receive a refund of your registration, minus a 20% administration fee, through August 31, 2020. After September 1st, your registration becomes nonrefundable. You may email us at email@example.com if you need to request a cancellation. If you have someone purchasing your registration, there will be a $15 transfer fee.
Query + first-page consult are an additional $25.
Ten-page manuscript consults are an additional $40.
You must be registered for the 2020 Snake River Writer Conference, and have paid your registration fee to be eligible for a spot with our visiting agent. Should you secure a spot but fail to pay within the allotted time, your appointment will go to the next available attendee. Emails will be sent to the email address provided at registration and we encourage you to check your folders thoroughly.

You may cancel if you no longer wish to attend, but unfortunately, Agent/Editor Consults are NON-REFUNDABLE.
As soon as someone registers (and pays) for these sessions, we have people working in the background. Time and effort are put into those slots immediately. Our visiting agent/editor is coming and funds are used to get them here.
No. Any interested writer is welcome to register and attend. Snake River Writers is a writing group formed specifically for writers in the Southeast Idaho area. It’s based entirely on location, in an effort to grow the writing community through local meetings. The conference shares the name of the group and is managed by members of the SRW, but the conference is for any writer, of any genre, who desires to attend.
Absolutely not! We welcome every writer, no matter where they are in their writing journey. At this point in time, we do not have breakout classes. We are trying our very best to offer classes that appeal to the beginning writers as well as the expert writers. If you know it all, please contact us. We’d love to have you teach.
To keep costs low, the SRW Conference is not offering any meals at this time. A lunch break will be scheduled for each day of the conference. Light refreshments ( along with water and coffee) will be provided. There are several, affordable places to eat along the greenbelt and around downtown Idaho Falls. Personal snacks are allowed.
For newer attendees feeling unsure about attending the conference, we want to help as best we can. Feel free to reach out to us, but also do a quick search on the internet. There are plenty of websites and blog posts that can provide you with reading material on how to prepare, what to expect, and what to take with you.

We’re a small conference, and we’ll all be in one large room. One of our main goals is to connect writers with other writers. We don’t want anyone to feel alone in their journey. We’re inviting the best instructors who have the heart of teachers, and feel confident that the entire staff of the conference is not only approachable but willing and eager to make a new friend. You might come alone, but you won’t leave friendless.
Please feel free to shout out who you think has the best hair during the opening announcements of the conference, or post your thoughts on social media, or bring a prize for who you think is the winner. We always accept prizes.
